Gregstrom Corporation, a 79-year-old plastics manufacturer, is moving its rotomolding business from Woburn, Massachusetts to Bedford, New Hampshire. Most of the company’s current employees will make the move, but the third-generation, family-owned business is also seeking new hires. Gregstrom was founded in 1946 and added rotational molding to its plastics manufacturing portfolio in 1989.
“We’re excited to make the move,” said Jeff DiDonato, company president. “Gregstrom has a distinguished history, dedicated employees, and loyal customers. As we begin this next chapter of our story, we’ll continue to provide rotomolding services that deliver greater value.”
Rotational molding, or rotomolding, is a plastics manufacturing process that creates strong, hollow parts in a variety of sizes, shapes, materials, and colors. As a value-added rotomolder, Gregstrom combines quality manufacturing with design reviews, molding making, product assembly, and testing. Gregstrom can rotomold parts in response to a customer’s sales forecast and offers services like drop shipments for Amazon sellers.
Gregstrom’s relocation follows the merger of its thermoforming business with C&K Plastics in 2024. By focusing exclusively on rotational molding, Gregstrom is leveraging its experience, expertise, and robust equipment set. In addition to Ferry Rotospeed RS-220 and RS2-3300 rotomolding machines, the company has a ribbon/paddle blender, a high-intensity mixer, robotic trimming, and auxiliary equipment for polyurethane foam filling – a process that provides additional rigidity and thermal insulation.
As Gregstrom looks to the future, the 79-year-old business is also planning a website redesign along with customer case studies and articles in industry trade publications. For U.S. companies that are seeking to reshore production or find a cost-effective alternative to injection molding, partnering with Gregstrom offers greater value. There’s also the security and stability of working with a plastics manufacturer that’s preparing to celebrate its 80th birthday in 2026.
