North Pole – December 17, 2024 – Santa’s Workshop has confirmed reports that an elite team of elves has deployed global food and water resources for nine flying reindeer. Dasher, Dancer, Prancer, Vixen, Comet, Cupid, Donner, Blitzen, and Rudolph will eat and drink from strategically-located rotomolded bins and tanks during refueling stops on Christmas Eve.
The contents of the food bins remains shrouded in secrecy, but insiders say that Santa’s reindeer run on more than just carrots and apples. “I can neither confirm nor deny rumors about specific food items,” said a snow-covered spokesperson, “but rest assured that we only source bins that are made of food-grade plastics. Anyone who says otherwise is sure to end up on Santa’s Naughty List.”
Gregstrom Corporation, the rotational molder who made the food bins and water tanks, was selected for the project based on its past performance. Santa’s Workshop received a plastic sleigh from Gregstrom in 2022 and then upfitted the vehicle in 2003 with foam-filled rotomolded panels. The modifications were necessary after a sledding incident.
Mrs. Claus, who holds advanced degrees in engineering and materials science, praised Gregstrom’s rotational molding capabilities. “We needed many large, lightweight containers in a black food-grade plastic,” she explained. “Rotational molding has lower tooling costs than injection molding and is ideal for strong, hollow products like tanks and bins.”
“Gregstrom is proud to once again be the North Pole’s manufacturing partner,” said Jeff DiDonato, the company’s president. “We’re glad that Santa’s reindeer will be fed and watered, but please don’t forget to leave cookies and milk for Santa.”
